Vegetarianism Help Yourself, the Animals, Everyone Else, and the Earth! by Aaron Pyne
Vegetarianism is the of abstaining from the use of products that are produced from animals (fur, leather, meats, eggs, dairy, etc.). This practice is easier done in certain areas that others (some cities are more accommodating to this practice) . Most of our culture related to food is based around meat. These traditions have been passed down from generations passed that survived on meat. In the more developed countries there seems to be an abundance of food created by massive amounts of organized agriculture. Most of these farms use very unnatural methods to produce large amounts of food from using all sorts of chemicals as well as near inhumane conditions for the livestock. These factors have horrible results on the livestock as well as those humans who eat them. Vegetarianism may not seem easy at first, but as one gets adjusted to this habit it becomes very natural. A good way to start on this path is to slowly cut more and more meat products out of your diet until you aren't eating any at all. There are many delicious meat substitutes such as soy meats (they have substitutes for almost any type of meat-chicken, burgers, ribs, bacon, buffalo wings, ham, turkey, baloney, etc.), tofu, tempeh, and much more. There's more and more vegetarian recipe books showing up at bookstores. This food choice is beneficial for yourself, others, the animals, and the world at large. Here are the reasons I have chosen to be a vegetarian: Personal health- a healthy diet of non-meat products is exceptionally healthier than a diet with meat State of mind- most animals are raised in unfriendly environments/conditions. These factors effect the mental well being of the animal as well as the energy fields/patterns contained within the meat. When you then eat the meat you are taking these unhealthy energy patterns into your field therefore lower your energy field resulting in increased sickness/problems physically, mentally, and emotionally. Basically, you eat unhappy animals = you become unhappy. This is why many spiritual paths restrict the eating of meat. Ingesting animals will digress your level of consciousness to a more animalistic state constricting your ability to make full use of your brain. Help out the animals- It's well known that the majority of the livestock animals are raised in poor conditions. Animals do have consciousness, they are part of Spirit just as we are. They may be aware of and experience life differently then we do. They are in the always in the moment. Chemicals- All sorts of chemicals are used in the meat industry which are very unhealthy for anyone. These chemicals are hazardous to our well being on many levels. Reduce risk of exposure to disease- a variety of diseases have shown up in livestock over the last few years as well as problems with undercooked meat leading to sickness. Less meat=More food - It takes approximately 8 bowls of grain to produce 1 8oz steak. This is an incredible waste of food. By reducing meat intake, you are allowing there to be more supplies of other food which could help to end starvation across the world. Help the environment - Animals produce a lot of waste product. Some is recycled for fertilizer, but a lot is left in the environment. The amount that is left in the environment is more than it can properly dispose of. This can lead to destruction of a variety of environments. We don't need it!- All the nutrients that the human body needs can be found in non-meat foods. The only reason we eat it is because we are used to having it around. Please do what you can to help out the world and cut meat out of your diet. Just one of many ways to make the world a better place for everyone. Go Vegetarian! Go Organic! Check for classes with Aaron about changing
